Farm country between Columbus and Fayette County, with London, Mount Sterling and West Jefferson

Buying and selling in the county

Local knowledge for Madison County

Madison County borders Fayette to the north and Franklin County to the east, which puts it squarely in the path of Columbus growth. Its towns still feel rural, its farmland is some of the best in the state, and buyers who want space within reach of the city keep coming.

Madison County is flat, open and productive, with the kind of long views across bean and corn fields that define central Ohio. The county seat in London has the courthouse and a walkable downtown, while Mount Sterling on the southern edge is closest to our office.

Because the county sits between our home base and Columbus, we are on its roads every week for showings, closings and auctions.

FAQ

Madison County questions

Is Madison County still affordable compared with Columbus?
Generally yes, though prices have climbed as Franklin County buyers push west. London and Mount Sterling remain well below Hilliard and Grove City on a per-square-foot basis, and land is far cheaper than anything inside the outerbelt.
Do you sell farms and equestrian properties in Madison County?
We do. The county has a strong horse community and large tracts of tillable ground. Jason handles land sales and auctions, and understands the drainage, easements and lease arrangements that come with agricultural property.
Which parts of the county are growing fastest?
The eastern edge near West Jefferson and Plain City, closest to Columbus and the new industrial sites off I-70. London and Mount Sterling are growing more slowly and keep more of a small-town character.
